What does one account really mean?

It means you have one wallet which you use to access the Internet via Wi-Fi and/or ADSL. Also, you will only have to remember one username and password.

Once you’ve topped up your account, you simply connect to the Internet through your chosen medium (Wi-Fi/ADSL) and your account will be debited according to the relevant excellent-value-for-money rate.

What happens to my available funds if I do not use it all in one month?

Your funds roll over to the next month and if you don’t use it up again, it rolls over to the next month and the one after that, and the one after that... Just remember to keep your account active by logging in on a regular basis.

Will I need an ISP account?

No you do not need an Internet Service Provider (ISP) account, just a G-Connect Account.

What is Invite-a-Friend?

Invite-a-Friend is a referral system whereby we give you the opportunity to earn invites to share the G-Connect experience with your friends, family and colleagues. They will be invited via email and SMS to explain the service and communicate the promotional voucher to the value of R 50-00. For every successful referral you will be rewarded with a R 10-00 top up of your G-Connect online account.

How does Invite-a-Friend work?

To invite one of your friends, family members or colleagues to trial the G-Connect service you will need to:

  • You start off with one invitation to send to whoever you like; thereafter use R 150-00's worth of bandwidth across any of our three mediums (3G, Wi-Fi or ASDL)to earn an invite.
  • Log in to your online G-Connect account.
  • Open the Invite-a-Friend page.
  • Populate the available Friend Fields with the Name, Surname, Email address and Cell number of the person/people you would like to invite.
  • Click on Submit.
  • G-Connect will now send a once-off email and SMS notification to your friend that contains the promotional voucher code and explains the full process to open a G-Connect account and redeem his/her voucher.
  • Once your friend has successfully signed up and entered their promotional voucher code their online account will be credited with R 50-00.
  • For every successful sign up that results from your references your online account will be credited with R10-00.
Please note:
  • Each invite will only be valid for 60 days.
  • Each friend will only be able to receive one invitation every 60 days. The uniqueness of the friend will be validated through the email address and cell phone number combination.
  • Current users will not be able to receive invites.
  • If a user doesn’t activate the voucher within 60 days, the voucher will expire and they will be able to receive another invitation.
  • Each voucher can only be used once.
How do I earn an invite?

You will earn one invite for every R 150-00's worth of bandwidth you use across any of our three mediums (3G, Wi-Fi or ASDL). Please note that you will only be able to earn an invite for the G-Connect data spend and not for any other purchases i.e. hardware) on the G-Connect website.

How can I be assured that the people I refer don't become victims to spamming?
  • As mentioned above, the referral's email address and cell number will be validated for uniqueness before his/her promotional voucher code will be generated. This ensures that each friend can only be invited once every 60 days. So make sure you are the first to invite them!
  • Unless the person referred successfully signs up he/she will under no circumstances be contacted by us.
How do I retrieve my voucher number (PIN) if I have lost it?

You will be able to retrieve your voucher number (PIN) on the landing page by providing details of your user account (which you used to purchase the 30-Day Broadband Pass).

What is RICA?

1 July 2009 the new RICA regulation was implemented compelling all Service Providers to collect certified copies of the client’s ID and proof of residence (like your utility bill) with SIM distribution. This is basically a FICA requirement for the telecommunication environment. The purpose of this act is to avoid telecommunication crime by making every SIM card end-user traceable.

What do I need to be RICA compliant?

Luckily it only applies when you order a SIM card. G-Connect brings RICA to your doorstep - simply provide us with a certified copy of your ID and proof of residence (like your utility bill) upon the SIM card delivery and you’re all set.

How will G-Connect bring RICA to my doorstep?

Before the SIM card is delivered to you, we will prompt you to have your certified copy of your ID and proof of residence (like your utility bill) ready upon delivery. You then simply hand the documents over to the couriers who will deliver them back to us. As easy as that!
